About this ride
When it comes to gravel cycling, Trinidad is a go-to destination in Colorado. The area features smooth, fast, challenging, and super-scenic roads! We will make a return to this area with this epic ride.
Pancho & Lefty’s Loop is 71 miles with around 3,600 feet of climbing. Here is the course:

And because it is remote, be sure your bike tuned beforehand (when was the last time you refreshed your sealant?!). While we always look out for one another on rides, it's also respectful to others to show up with a bike that ready to ride. Also note that options to stop at a store and refuel are limited, so bring plenty of water.
The plan is to meet in downtown Trinidad at the Safeway at 7:45 for an 8:00 departure.
There is a good variety of hotels and places to camp in the area for people heading down on Friday night. Please note in the ride comments here if you are looking to share a room with someone.
As with all RMCC rides, this is a drop ride although we will regroup on a periodic basis.
For those who want to stay the weekend, we will also be posting a shorter Sunday ride in addition to Friday’s ride. This should be a fun weekend and a way to see an area of the state most of us have just driven by--please join us!
Finally, non-dues-paying members are welcome and invited to join us on any ride! After three rides we do ask that you join the club: rockymountaincyclingclub.com/rmcc-membership-application-form
